| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Geraldine | 4 |
| A. "Gerrie" Parr of Champaign, who passed away on February 12, | 5 |
| 2010; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Geraldine Parr was born on July 28, 1946, in | 7 |
| Cadillac, Michigan; her parents were Dan and Dorothy Parr; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Geraldine Parr graduated from Waukegan Township | 9 |
| High School in 1964; she earned her bachelor's degree in | 10 |
| psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign | 11 |
| in 1968; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Geraldine Parr served as Champaign County Auditor | 13 |
| for many years until her retirement; she also served as | 14 |
| chairwoman of the Champaign County Democratic Party for 10 | 15 |
| years, where she gained a reputation as an avid Democrat who | 16 |
| was respectful and civil to the opposition; and
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Geraldine Parr enjoyed skiing, sailing, reading, | 18 |
| cooking, and traveling to locations around the world, including | 19 |
| Tahiti, China, France, Peru, and Egypt; and | 20 |
| WHEREAS, Geraldine Parr was preceded in death by her |

| husband, Kurt McKenzie; her mother; and her brother-in-law, | 2 |
| Jerry Altman; and
| 3 |
| WHEREAS, Geraldine Parr is survived by her daughter, | 4 |
| Daniellinda "Dani" Schooley; her father and step-mother, Dan | 5 |
| and Mavon Parr; and her sister, Linda Altman; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Geraldine Parr will be remembered by all who knew | 7 |
| and loved her as a hard-working Democrat, a great unifier, a | 8 |
| great cook, and a gracious hostess; therefore, be it
| 9 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 10 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 11 |
| mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of | 12 |
| Geraldine A. "Gerrie" Parr; and be it further
| 13 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 |
| presented to Geraldine Parr's daughter, Daniellinda "Dani" | 15 |
| Schooley, as an expression of our sympathy.
