| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply | 3 | | saddened to learn of the death of Illinois State Trooper Kyle | 4 | | W. Deatherage of Highland, who passed away on November 26, | 5 | | 2012; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Trooper Deatherage was born on April 11, 1980, in | 7 | | Maryville; he graduated from Triad High School in 1998 and | 8 | | received his associates degree in criminal justice at Lewis & | 9 | | Clark College; he married Sarah A. Gregory; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Trooper Deatherage worked for Trucks Centers in | 11 | | Troy, and began his career in law enforcement for the Staunton | 12 | | Police Department; he worked for the Madison County Sheriff's | 13 | | Office and then became an Illinois State Trooper with District | 14 | | 18 in May of 2009; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Trooper Deatherage enjoyed fishing, hunting, and | 16 | | loved his children very much; he enjoyed time with close | 17 | | friends and officers from the departments he worked with; he | 18 | | was a member of First Congregational Church in Highland and the | 19 | | Fraternal Order of Police 43-Springfield; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Trooper Deatherage was preceded in death by his | 21 | | paternal grandfather, Ralph M. Deatherage and his maternal |

| 1 | | grandparents, Casmir and Rose Anna Karpowicz; and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Trooper Deatherage is survived by his wife, Sarah | 3 | | A. (nee Gregory) Deatherage; his daughter, Kaylee Ann | 4 | | Deatherage; his son, Camden Kyle Deatherage; his father, Barry | 5 | | W. Deatherage Sr.; his mother, April Kay (nee Karpowicz) | 6 | | Deatherage; his brothers, Barry W. Deatherage Jr. and Kenneth | 7 | | M. (Ashleigh) Deatherage; his sister, Anna B. Deatherage; his | 8 | | paternal grandmother, Brooksie M. (nee South) Deatherage; his | 9 | | father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gean B. and Eleanor L. (nee | 10 | | Christin) Gregory; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Illinois State Trooper Kyle Deatherage, recognize the | 14 | | sacrifice he made protecting the citizens of the State of | 15 | | Illinois, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, | 16 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the family of Trooper Deatherage as an expression | 19 | | of our deepest sympathy.
