| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Jacqueline M. "Jacque" Vail of Tucson, | 4 | | Arizona, who passed away on February 1, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jacque Vail was born in Joliet to Raymond and | 6 | | Bernice Lowery Fenton on September 20, 1929; her family moved | 7 | | to Bloomington when she was a teenager; she graduated from Holy | 8 | | Trinity High School; she received her bachelor's and master's | 9 | | degrees in home economics from Illinois State University; she | 10 | | married William L. Vail at Holy Trinity Church in Bloomington | 11 | | on June 16, 1951; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Jacque Vail began her career as a teacher with the | 13 | | Armington Public School System; she later became director of | 14 | | food service at Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomington; | 15 | | she served as director of food service for Bloomington Public | 16 | | Schools District 87 from 1969 until her retirement in 1984; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jacque Vail was actively involved in her | 18 | | community, her church, and professional organizations | 19 | | throughout her life; she was a charter member of the Holy | 20 | | Trinity board of education; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Jacque Vail was deeply committed to her Catholic |

| 1 | | faith; she and her husband enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 | 2 | | states during their marriage; she was proud of her Irish | 3 | | heritage and visited her great-grandparents' hometown of | 4 | | Dingle in County Kerry, Ireland; she was also an enthusiastic | 5 | | home cook and baker; she was noted for her generous | 6 | | hospitality; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Jacque Vail was preceded in death by her husband | 8 | | of 63 years, William L. Vail, and her brother, Richard Lowery; | 9 | | and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Jacqueline Vail is survived by her children, | 11 | | Catherine McIntosh, William R. (Debbie Ramirez) Vail, Mary | 12 | | (Geoff) Grube, John (Jennifer) Vail, Patricia (Peter) Merna, | 13 | | and Elizabeth (Jeff) Brown; her grandchildren, Peter McIntosh, | 14 | | Meaghan McIntosh, Laura McIntosh, Emily McIntosh, Jamie Vail, | 15 | | Will Vail, Daniel Grube, Michael Grube, Catherine (Tommy) | 16 | | McGuire, Judson Vail, Jonathan Vail, Anne (Colin) Reints, Kate | 17 | | Merna, Daniel Merna, Molly Brown, and Jake Brown; and her two | 18 | | great-granddaughters, Molly and Madeline McGuire; her sister, | 19 | | Mary Lu (Bob) Scott; and her brother, Ray (Donna) Fenton; | 20 | | therefore, be it
