SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marvin L. Halstead of Rock Island, who passed away on May 6, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Halstead was born to Harold and Helen (Macomb) Halstead in Brookings, South Dakota on April 16, 1935; he served in the U.S. Navy; he married Joyce L. Nightingale Carr in Moline on January 17, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Halstead retired from Granger Supply; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Halstead enjoyed construction, building, dancing, camping, and spending his winters in Arizona; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Halstead is survived by his wife; his children, Douglas (Deb) Halstead, Tom Schweska, Sue Lang, Kevin Halstead, Mike Schweska, and John Schweska; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Carol (Milo) Seibert; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marvin L. Halstead and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marvin Halstead as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
