| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply | 3 | | saddened to learn of the death of Eugene O. Adkins of | 4 | | Carlinville, who passed away on November 21, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Adkins was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, | 6 | | to Eugene Monroe and Audrie Barringer Adkins; he graduated from | 7 | | Saint Louis University with a degree in biology and chemistry | 8 | | in 1949; he was in the U.S. Army Air Corps and worked for | 9 | | Anheuser-Busch in the New York area; he married Claire Ann | 10 | | Kiely on August 2, 1952; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Adkins settled in Carlinville and was a | 12 | | farmer and co-owner of Adkins & Marko Construction; he was | 13 | | involved in several community ventures, including the Lions | 14 | | Club, Jaycees, the Macoupin 912 group, the Ss. Mary and Joseph | 15 | | Building Committee, and the boards of Carlinville Public | 16 | | Schools and Farmers and Merchants Bank; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Adkins enjoyed spending time with his wife, | 18 | | playing racquetball, tennis, having coffee with the "Macoupin | 19 | | County Yacht Club", and spending time with family and friends; | 20 | | and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Adkins is survived by his children, Barry |

| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Eugene Adkins, and we extend our sincere condolences to his | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 9 | | further
