| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Nancy Hoey Hanson of River Forest, who | 4 | | passed away on July 12, 2017, at the age of 77; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Hoey Hanson was born to John Joseph and | 6 | | Grace Pigott Hoey on April 25, 1940; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Hoey Hanson was an active, caring member of | 8 | | her faith community, serving as president of the First | 9 | | Presbyterian Church of Oak Park Guild; and | 10 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Hoey Hanson devoted her time to bettering | 11 | | the lives of those in her neighborhood, especially the children | 12 | | of Oak Park and River Forest; she was a member of the board of | 13 | | directors of the Oak Park and River Forest Day Nursery and | 14 | | helped organize referenda for the River Forest Elementary | 15 | | Schools and the Oak Park and River Forest High School; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Hoey Hanson was heavily involved in | 17 | | philanthropy as a member of the Community Chest of Oak Park and | 18 | | River Forest; she served on the Community Chest's Board of | 19 | | Governors, as campaign chairman, and as president; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Hoey Hanson supported the Art Institute of |

| 1 | | Chicago as a member and then chairman of the board of directors | 2 | | of the OPRF Community Associates and as executive chair of the | 3 | | executive board of Community Associates; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Hoey Hanson served as a member and president | 5 | | of the Philanthropic Educational Organization's Oak Park | 6 | | Chapter BI, which promoted educational opportunities for | 7 | | women; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Hoey Hanson was preceded in death by her | 9 | | parents and her brother, John Bartley Hoey; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Hoey Hanson is survived by her devoted | 11 | | husband of 55 years, David Louis Hanson; her beloved sons, Mark | 12 | | Louis (Burch) Hanson and United States Navy Captain Christopher | 13 | | John (Catherine) Hanson; her cherished grandchildren, William | 14 | | Louis and Edward McCutchen Hanson and Caroline Grace and Chase | 15 | | Edward Hanson; and many wonderfully supportive neighbors and | 16 | | friends; therefore, be it
