| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Marshall E. Beals of Hampton, who passed | 4 | | away on September 21, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Marshall Beals was born on November 22, 1924 in | 6 | | Moline; his parents were William C. and Agnes Engh Beals; he | 7 | | married Bobbie Reinhold on October 22, 1960 in Peoria; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Marshall Beals worked as a tool designer for the | 9 | | Rock Island Arsenal for many years until his retirement on | 10 | | April 1, 1988; he also worked at Reynolds Engineering; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Marshall Beals proudly served as a bombardier on a | 12 | | B-24 Liberator in the United States Navy during World War II; | 13 | | he served with the VPB 117 squadron, known as the Blue Raiders; | 14 | | he enjoyed reunions with his squadron for many years; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Marshall Beals was a graduate of Rock Island High | 16 | | School and the University of Iowa; and | 17 | | WHEREAS, Marshall Beals enjoyed golf and was a Chicago | 18 | | Bears fan; he was also a member of the Hampton Historical | 19 | | Society and loved spending time with his dog, Sonny; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Marshall Beals was preceded in death by his | 2 | | parents; his granddaughter, Dana Beals; and his brother, | 3 | | Richard Beals; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Marshall Beals is survived by his wife, Bobbie; | 5 | | his sons, Daniel (Cathy) Beals, Bill (Cheryl) Beals, and James | 6 | | M. Beals; his grandchildren, Danny Beals, Mark Beals, and Nikki | 7 | | Beals; his 9 great-grandchildren; and his lifelong friend, | 8 | | Ralph Slentz; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 11 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Marshall E. Beals; and | 12 | | be it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Marshall Beals as an expression of | 15 | | our sympathy.
