| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Daniel C. Felix of Pistakee Highlands, | 4 | | who passed away on January 5, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Felix was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin to | 6 | | Charles and Dorothy (Owens) Felix on April 11, 1939; he married | 7 | | Nancy M. Bartnicki at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Chicago | 8 | | on January 16, 1965; he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve | 9 | | and was stationed at Camp LeJeune in Jacksonville, North | 10 | | Carolina; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Felix opened Felix Auto Sales on Western | 12 | | Avenue near Riverview Park; later, he worked as an | 13 | | over-the-road truck driver with B.A. Railton Co. (Sysco Foods) | 14 | | and spent his entire 32-year career there, retiring in 2001 at | 15 | | the age of 62; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Felix was President of the Pistakee | 17 | | Highlands Community Association, where he was instrumental in | 18 | | getting the roads paved throughout the village; he coordinated | 19 | | numerous picnics, the annual Parade on Wheels, and the winter | 20 | | snow sculpture event; he was a member of the Loyal Order of the | 21 | | Moose and never passed up the opportunity to attend a garage | 22 | | sale; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Felix enjoyed refinishing old furniture | 2 | | and attending the Kane County Flea Market to sell his antiques | 3 | | and other goods; he enjoyed going to gun shows and to car shows | 4 | | with his 1923 Ford Model T; he also enjoyed taking his | 5 | | grandsons, their friends, and other children to his second home - | 6 | | the Volo Auto Museum; one of his favorite treasures was his | 7 | | player piano, which he played at parties, entertaining guests | 8 | | and encouraging sing-a-longs; and | 9 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Felix's greatest joy in life was his two | 10 | | grandsons; he took pride in all of their accomplishments and | 11 | | loved spending time with them; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Felix was preceded in death by his parents, | 13 | | Charles and Dorothy; his brother, Robert (Linda) Felix; his | 14 | | sister, Sandra (Lawrence) Leeke; and his in-laws, Edward and | 15 | | Wanda Bartnicki; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Felix is survived by his wife of nearly 52 | 17 | | years, Nancy; his son, Paul (Kristine); his daughter, Denise; | 18 | | his grandsons, Brody Patrick Felix, and Colin James Felix; his | 19 | | sister, Patricia Hefty; his in-laws, Claudia (James) Sesso, | 20 | | Doris Berry, and Edward (Kathy) Bartnicki; and many nieces and | 21 | | nephews; therefore, be it
