| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Mary Ann Dykstra, who passed away on | 4 | | December 5, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Dykstra was born in the winter during the | 6 | | 1920s to Carl Swanson and Della Irene Fry; she graduated from | 7 | | East Aurora High School and attended the University of | 8 | | Illinois; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Dykstra was an enthusiastic world | 10 | | traveler, a gifted artist in a variety of media, a colorful | 11 | | employee of The Knit Shop, a committed community volunteer, and | 12 | | a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Dykstra was a member of New England | 14 | | Congregational Church; she was also a member of the Chicago Art | 15 | | Institute, the Aurora Art League, the Aurora Historical | 16 | | Society, the Aurora Country Club, the Pressed Glass, and the | 17 | | Gamma Phi Beta Sorority; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Dykstra was a long-time family friend of | 19 | | former Illinois State Senator Chris and Sarah Lauzen; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Dykstra was preceded in death by her |

| 1 | | parents, and by her husband, Dr. Lewis A. Dykstra; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Dykstra is survived by her daughters | 3 | | Chris and Carole; her grandson, Jeffery Boone; and by the | 4 | | Dykstra children, Anne, Kris, and John; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Mary Ann Dykstra, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Mary Ann Dykstra as an expression of | 12 | | our deepest sympathy.
