| 1 | | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Detective John Atteberry | 4 | | on the occasion of his retirement from the Bloomington Police | 5 | | Department after 22 years of service; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Detective Atteberry was hired by the Bloomington | 7 | | Police Department in Bloomington, Illinois on January 6, 1997; | 8 | | he started in the Patrol Division, where he worked the second | 9 | | and third shifts for four years; in January 2001, he was moved | 10 | | into the Vice Narcotics United, where he worked felony-level | 11 | | drug cases; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Detective Atteberry was deputized with the United | 13 | | States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and he worked | 14 | | jointly with the DEA, the Bloomington Police Department, and | 15 | | the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives | 16 | | (ATF) on the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force | 17 | | (OCDETF); his work there led to several arrests where state and | 18 | | federal charges were filed; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, In 2007, Detective Atteberry joined the Criminal | 20 | | Investigation Division of the Bloomington Police Department, | 21 | | and he has led or participated in a variety of high-level | 22 | | cases, from aggravated battery to homicide; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Detective Atteberry will enjoy his retirement | 2 | | with his wife, Tracy, and his children, Marissa and Nicholas; | 3 | | therefore, be it
| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 5 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 6 | | congratulate Detective John Atteberry on his retirement from | 7 | | the Bloomington Police Department, and we thank him for his | 8 | | service to the State of Illinois; we wish him the best in his | 9 | | future endeavors; and be it further
