| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of James C. Ziel of Rock Island, who | 4 | | passed away on May 29, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, James Ziel was born to Harold and Margaret | 6 | | (Douglas) Ziel in Moline on April 1, 1942; he graduated from | 7 | | Rock Island High School and the Greer Technical Institute; he | 8 | | served in the U.S. Air Force; he married Sharron Bedford in | 9 | | Rock Island on June 17, 1966; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, James Ziel maintained his own business for | 11 | | decades before working for and retiring from Deco Tool Supply; | 12 | | and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, James Ziel was committed to his faith and served | 14 | | in leadership roles at First Evangelical Free Church in | 15 | | Moline; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, James Ziel was known for his ingenuity in solving | 17 | | problems, including being able to fix anything in the house | 18 | | and making the best popcorn; he enjoyed sharing his outdoor | 19 | | hobbies, fishing and geocaching, with family and friends; he | 20 | | will be remembered for his love of others, his friendship, and | 21 | | his mentorship; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, James Ziel is survived by his wife, Sharron; his | 2 | | children, Cathy (Hank) Vejvoda, Carrie (Chris) Walter, and | 3 | | David (Angie) Ziel; his grandchildren, Grace Vejvoda, Rose | 4 | | Vejvoda, Adeline Vejvoda, Nate Walter, Abbie Walter, and Eli | 5 | | Walter; his siblings, Bill Ziel, Janet (Dennis) Huber, and | 6 | | Mike (Cathy) Bedford; his 10 nieces and nephews; and his | 7 | | church family at First Evangelical Free Church; therefore, be | 8 | | it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
