| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Mary Ann Mass of Woodstock, who passed | 4 | | away on October 21, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Mass was born in Volo to Leo and Clara | 6 | | (Diedrich) Regner on April 29,1928; she married Frank J. Mass | 7 | | in Volo on November 6, 1948; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Mass, along with her husband, had many | 9 | | business enterprises; they operated the Lamplighter Motel in | 10 | | Woodstock for 20 years; they built and operated the Timbers | 11 | | Restaurant, the Colonial Motel and Restaurant, and the Rose Ann | 12 | | apartment complex in Elgin; they also had many other rental | 13 | | properties in and around Woodstock; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Mass was dedicated to her family and her | 15 | | church; she was a longtime volunteer at St. Mary Catholic | 16 | | Church and served in many capacities; she directed the cleaning | 17 | | of the church, was the weekly morning mass coordinator, and was | 18 | | the Sacristan; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Mass was preceded in death by her | 20 | | parents; her husband, Frank; her daughter, Carol Carlisle; her | 21 | | sister, Rosie Miller; her brother, Alfred Regner, and her two |

| 1 | | grandsons, Robert and Timothy Carlisle; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Mass is survived by her daughter, | 3 | | Margaret (George) Cangialosi; her grandchildren, Carrie | 4 | | (Darrin) Fischer, Diana Collins, and Ken (Valerie) Carlisle; | 5 | | her great-grandchildren, Katie, Jameson, Jaiden, Jacob, and | 6 | | Alexander; her sister, Theresa Tonyan; and her many nieces and | 7 | | nephews; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Mary Ann Mass and extend our sincere condolences to her family, | 11 | | friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Mary Ann Mass as an expression of | 14 | | our deepest sympathy.
