| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Curtis L. "Curt" Trevor of Moline, who | 4 | | passed away on June 22, 2024; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Curt Trevor was born to Glenn and Leona Trevor in | 6 | | Moline on June 19, 1928; he served in the U.S. Army from 1946 | 7 | | to 1948, which included a stint in Korea; he graduated from | 8 | | Augustana College in Rock Island and the University of | 9 | | Michigan Law School; he married Shirley Ann Youngert in Rock | 10 | | Island on September 6, 1952, and they were together for 62 | 11 | | years; and | 12 | | WHEREAS, Curt Trevor practiced law in Moline for over 60 | 13 | | years; during his career, he was in private practice with his | 14 | | father, Glenn, served as an Assistant State's Attorney, an | 15 | | Assistant Attorney General, a Moline City Attorney twice, and | 16 | | a solo practitioner; and | 17 | | WHEREAS, Curt Trevor served on the boards of Moline Public | 18 | | Hospital and St. John's Lutheran Church in Rock Island, where | 19 | | he was a longtime member; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, Curt Trevor was a dedicated guardian of English | 21 | | grammar and an enthusiastic, lifelong athlete; he continued |

| 1 | | golfing, running, and playing tennis well into his later | 2 | | years, and he pursued competitive pole vaulting into his early | 3 | | 70s; and | 4 | | WHEREAS, Curt Trevor will be remembered as a funny, | 5 | | gentle, and loving friend, son, brother, uncle, father, | 6 | | grandfather, and husband; and | 7 | | WHEREAS, Curt Trevor is survived by his brother, Bruce; | 8 | | his sons, Alan, David (Mary), and Charlie (Sandy); his | 9 | | grandchildren, Ben (Fei), Theo, Abby, Kestrel (Amanda), and | 10 | | Casey; and his great-grandchildren, Aria and Mackenzie; | 11 | | therefore, be it | 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Curtis L. "Curt" Trevor and extend our sincere condolences to | 15 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 16 | | further | 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the family of Curt Trevor as an expression of our | 19 | | deepest sympathy. |
