| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Betty Jane McClintock of Godfrey, who | 4 | | passed away on November 30, 2010; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, She was born on March 1, 1921, in St. Louis, | 6 | | Missouri, and raised by her aunt and uncle, Josephine and Gus | 7 | | (Hasler) Greding; she married Robert McClintock on November 6, | 8 | | 1943, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, She received her Bachelor of Science degree in | 10 | | Registered Nursing from Southern Illinois University in | 11 | | Edwardsville; in 1969, she received her Master's degree in | 12 | | counselor education; she had a St. Joseph's Alton Community | 13 | | District Nursing career beginning in 1943, retiring in 1996, | 14 | | with over 50 years in the health care industry; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, She worked as a registered nurse and was involved | 16 | | in nursing education; she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic | 17 | | Church in Alton; she was a member of the Cadet Nurse Corps | 18 | | during World War II; she was a lifetime member of the American | 19 | | Red Cross and received the Women of Distinction Award in 1996; | 20 | | and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Betty Jane McClintock is survived by her daughters | 2 | | and sons-in-law, Sarah "Jane" and the Honorable P.J. O'Neill | 3 | | and Susan and Gerry Stauder; her grandchildren and their | 4 | | spouses, John (Mitsue) Schold, Caroline (Ian) Horwood, Michael | 5 | | (Jana) O'Neill, and Timothy (Nikki) O'Neill; and her | 6 | | great-grandchildren, Lisa, Andrew, and Hanna Schold, Carlie, | 7 | | Lauren, and Johnny O'Neill, Jack and Tom Horwood, and Colin | 8 | | O'Neill; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 11 | | her family and friends, the passing of Betty Jane McClintock; | 12 | | and be it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Betty Jane McClintock as a symbol of | 15 | | our sincere sympathy.
