| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Harold Gordon Tozer of Springfield, who | 4 | | passed away on April 9, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Harold Tozer was born to Alva Clarence and Anna | 6 | | Julia (Gordon) Tozer in Menard County on March 28, 1916; he | 7 | | married Evelyn Edna Hergett on December 21, 1953; Harold was a | 8 | | World War II veteran who served in the Pacific Theater from | 9 | | 1942 to 1944; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Harold Tozer owned a small grain farm and raised | 11 | | livestock and horses; he was extremely proud of a horse he | 12 | | owned that won Grand Champion at the Illinois State Fair; he | 13 | | also worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for several | 14 | | years before retiring; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Harold Tozer was an avid bird watcher and nature | 16 | | lover and was a member of the Audubon Society and the Adams | 17 | | Wildlife Sanctuary; he was also a lifelong member of the Menard | 18 | | County American Legion Post #129; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Harold Tozer enjoyed coffee with his buddies and | 20 | | traveling; he and his wife also enjoyed participating at the | 21 | | Clayville Town Historic Site; most of all, he loved Sunday |

| 1 | | afternoon drives with his wife and spending time with family | 2 | | and friends during the holidays and family celebrations; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Harold Tozer was preceded in death by his parents; | 4 | | his wife, Edna; his two brothers, Clarence and Woodrow Tozer; | 5 | | and his five sisters, Mildred Wiseman, Bertha Knoles, Virginia | 6 | | Hinrichs, Alice Horn, and an infant sister, Norma Faye Tozer; | 7 | | and | 8 | | WHEREAS, Harold Tozer is survived by his cousin, Betty | 9 | | Young; his several nieces and nephews; and his several | 10 | | great-nieces and great-nephews; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| 13 | | Harold Gordon Tozer and extend our sincere
condolences to his | 14 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | 15 | | further
| 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| 17 | | presented to the family of Harold Tozer as an expression of
our | 18 | | deepest sympathy.
