| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of John | 4 | | Edward Keane of Springfield, who passed away on May 9, 2014; | 5 | | and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, John Keane was born in Chicago on September 10, | 7 | | 1938 to Patrick J. and Nora Kelly Keane; he earned his | 8 | | bachelor's degree in Sociology from Loyola University in 1960 | 9 | | and served his country in the United States Army; he married | 10 | | Irene Duffy who preceded him in death; he later married Rosalie | 11 | | Henebry on August 1, 1987 at St. Ignatius in Chicago; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, John Keane worked as a healthcare administrator | 13 | | for many years, serving in Chicago, Niles, and Arthur until his | 14 | | retirement in 2003; after retirement, he was an usher for the | 15 | | Illinois House of Representatives for 10 years; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, John Keane was a member of Church of the Little | 17 | | Flower, where he participated in the Gift Program; he enjoyed | 18 | | flower and vegetable gardening, cooking, reading, volunteering | 19 | | at the University of Illinois Auditorium, building things, and | 20 | | tinkering in the garage; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, John Keane was preceded in death by his first |

| 1 | | wife, Irene; his parents; and a sister, Patricia Keane; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, John Keane is survived by his wife, Rosalie Keane; | 3 | | 5 children, Matthew (Carole) Keane, Patrick (Sonja) Keane, | 4 | | Michael (Margaret) Keane, Theresa Keane, and Daniel (Melissa) | 5 | | Keane; 7 grandchildren; sister, Eleanora Feltz; and several | 6 | | nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 8 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 9 | | we mourn the passing of John Edward Keane, and extend our | 10 | | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | 11 | | and loved him; and be it further
