| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Everett Earl Ledbetter of Springfield, | 4 | | formerly of Sparta, who passed away on March 16, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Everett Ledbetter was born in Sparta to Katherine | 6 | | (Saal) and Lewis Ledbetter on August 12, 1924; he served in the | 7 | | U.S. Third Army, 76th Infantry during WWII, where he fought in | 8 | | Belgium at the Battle of the Bulge and Bastogne; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Everett Ledbetter worked at World Color Press in | 10 | | Sparta; he moved to Springfield to work at the Journal Star in | 11 | | Peoria around 1959; he later worked at the Springfield | 12 | | Journal-Register; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Everett Ledbetter will be remembered as a devoted | 14 | | husband, father, and grandfather; he was a member of the | 15 | | Springfield Southern Baptist Church; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Everett Ledbetter was preceded in death by his | 17 | | first wife, Reba Scott Ledbetter; his second wife, Dorothy | 18 | | Millner Bush Ledbetter; his son, Nolan Ledbetter; his | 19 | | daughter-in-law, Kay Ledbetter; his brother, Bill Ledbetter; | 20 | | his sisters, Mildred McIntyre, Edith Howie, and Edna Baily; and | 21 | | his parents; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Everett Ledbetter is survived by his sons, Earl | 2 | | Gene Ledbetter and Russell (Mary Jane) Ledbetter; his | 3 | | grandchildren, Richard (Betty) Ledbetter, Sherri Kay Whitmore, | 4 | | Lisa Marie Brown, Diane Marie (John) Baranzelli, Christopher | 5 | | Joseph (Amy) Ledbetter, Jamie Lynn (Brandon) Bowden, and Robin | 6 | | Leigh Ledbetter; his stepdaughters, Linda Bush Prince and Sandy | 7 | | Bush Howard; his step-grandchildren, Shelly Gresham, Susan | 8 | | Bowen, and Scott Morehead; and his many great-grandchildren and | 9 | | great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Everett Earl Ledbetter and extend our sincere condolences to | 13 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
