| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Robert L. "Bob" Volk of Bloomington, who | 4 | | passed away on April 1, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Volk was born in Springfield to Adolph and | 6 | | Bertha (Curry) Volk on May 23, 1939; he married Sharon C. | 7 | | Fathauer in Springfield on March 3, 1962; he served in the U.S. | 8 | | Army from 1962 to 1964; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Bob Volk worked for Springfield Electric Supply | 10 | | Company for 39 years in multiple capacities, culminating in his | 11 | | role as senior vice president and district manager; he retired | 12 | | on December 30, 2003; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Bob Volk served as a trustee for the Bloomington | 14 | | Township Fire Department and on the board of the American Red | 15 | | Cross of the Heartland; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Bob Volk was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan; he | 17 | | enjoyed attending Illinois State University Redbird basketball | 18 | | games, deer and turkey hunting with his friends, and supporting | 19 | | the community in a number of ways; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Bob Volk loved his family, especially spending |

| 1 | | time with his six grandchildren, and will be missed by all who | 2 | | knew him; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Bob Volk was preceded in death by his parents and | 4 | | his sister, Bertha Hostick; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Volk is survived by his wife, Sharon Volk; his | 6 | | children, Melissa Hager, Jill Volk, and Scott (Abi) Volk; his | 7 | | grandchildren, Jeff Hager, Jason Hager, Anne Volk Porter, Mark | 8 | | Volk Porter, Connor Volk, and Zoe Volk; his sister, Frances | 9 | | Knox; and his several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Robert L. "Bob" Volk and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Bob Volk as an expression of our | 17 | | deepest sympathy.
