| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Russel Roy Dagit of Pekin, who passed | 4 | | away on December 31, 2010; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, He was born November 3, 1924, in Green Valley to | 6 | | Charles Adolf and Clara Elizabeth (Volk) Dagit; he married | 7 | | Alberta Florence Harlan on September 4, 1942, in Pekin; he | 8 | | later married Christal Elaine Miller on September. 4, 1966, in | 9 | | Peoria; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, He was a stores control clerk at Caterpillar | 11 | | Incorporated, retiring in 1974 after 31 years of service; he | 12 | | had previously worked at Boss Glove Factory in Peoria and | 13 | | worked on the building of Camp Ellis during World War II; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, He was a member of the Tazewell County Historic | 15 | | Places Society and the Tazewell County Museum and Educational | 16 | | Center, where he was an active volunteer building bookcases, | 17 | | shelves, and hanging most of the pictures in the picture | 18 | | gallery; he enjoyed building and repairing items for the | 19 | | museum; he helped in the research for the Dagit family history; | 20 | | and | 21 | | WHEREAS, He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in |

| 1 | | Pekin, the Peoria Motorcycle Club, the Caterpillar Camping | 2 | | Club, and the McDonald's Coffee Club; he was an avid motorcycle | 3 | | rider, enjoyed the outdoors, and working in his garage; he | 4 | | often stated that work was his hobby; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; one | 6 | | brother, Louis Dagit; and one sister, Dorothy DeGroot; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Russel Dagit is survived by his wife; his sons, | 8 | | Roy (Debbie) Dagit and Everett (Sheila) Dagit; his daughter, | 9 | | Marnie Linda (Tommy) Lively; his 10 grandchildren; his 16 | 10 | | great-grandchildren; and his 2 great-great-grandchildren; | 11 | | therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 14 | | his family and friends, the passing of Russel Dagit; and be it | 15 | | further
| 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 17 | | presented to the family of Russel Dagit as a symbol of our | 18 | | sincere sympathy.
