| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Village President Louis E. French of | 4 | | Holiday Hills, who passed away on July 31, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, President French was born in Elmhurst on April | 6 | | 23, 1958; he was the son of Louis French and Alberta | 7 | | (Scaglione) French and the stepson of William Meyer; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Prior to serving the Village of Holiday Hills, | 9 | | President French was a firefighter, paramedic, and rescue | 10 | | diver for Nunda Township and the Fox Lake Fire Protection | 11 | | District; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, President French was serving in his second term | 13 | | as president of the Village of Holiday Hills at the time of his | 14 | | passing; prior to being elected president, he served as | 15 | | village trustee; during his tenure, he was noted for his | 16 | | commitment and dedication to the village and the community; | 17 | | and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, President French was affectionately known as "Big | 19 | | Lou", "Lou", and "Louie"; he deeply loved his family; he | 20 | | enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing his guitars, and spoiling | 21 | | his dogs; he will be remembered for his larger-than-life |

| 1 | | personality, his energy, and his good heart; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, President French was preceded in death by his | 3 | | parents and stepfather; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, President French is survived by three daughters, | 5 | | one son, six grandchildren, three sisters, two brothers, 18 | 6 | | nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and | 7 | | friends; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Louis E. French and extend our sincere condolences to his | 11 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of President French as an expression | 15 | | of our deepest sympathy.
