| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the | 3 |
| State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of George R. | 4 |
| Dixon of Findlay on Thursday, July 29, 2004; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Dixon was born in Duval on August 6, 1924 to | 6 |
| Madison and Jessie Coventry Dixon; he married Juanita Jones on | 7 |
| July 14, 1946 in Dorans; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Dixon proudly served in combat operations in | 9 |
| both World War II and the Korean Conflict as a member of the | 10 |
| U.S. Navy; he was a member of the committee for formation and | 11 |
| financing the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.; he | 12 |
| served his country in two wars and his community during his | 13 |
| entire life, always being the "go-to" guy for volunteering or | 14 |
| being volunteered for anything to do with his precious Findlay; | 15 |
| and
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Dixon was involved in many business | 17 |
| opportunities, including building and loan associations, | 18 |
| income taxes, and having a large oil filter business in his | 19 |
| basement; he took volunteer jobs on temporary bases that lasted | 20 |
| 40 or 50 years; he was a certified tax consultant, a licensed | 21 |
| real estate salesman, a financial investment broker, keeper of | 22 |
| the Findlay Cemeteries books and records, and more; during his | 23 |
| regular working years he worked as the manager of the Livergood | 24 |
| Grain Elevator in Findlay for 39 years; and
| 25 |
| WHEREAS, After his retirement from the grain business | 26 |
| George picked up on all the other jobs he had during his life | 27 |
| and continued them full time; he traveled extensively with his | 28 |
| friends and family and truly enjoyed his time with his | 29 |
| grandson; and
| 30 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of George R. Dixon has been deeply |

| felt by many, especially his wife, Juanita; his daughter, Sue | 2 |
| Booker (Steve); his grandsons, Corey and Logan; and his nephew, | 3 |
| Gene Dixon; therefore, be it | 4 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 5 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 6 |
| mourn the death of George R. Dixon, and we extend our deepest | 7 |
| sympathy to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 8 |
| him; and be it further
| 9 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 10 |
| presented to the family of George R. Dixon as an expression of | 11 |
| our sincere condolences.
