| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Henry "Hank" Tonigan, II of Waukegan, who | 4 | | passed away on April 1, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Henry Tonigan was born on April 2, 1925 in | 6 | | Waukegan to Henry and Wilma Tonigan; he was an Eagle Scout and | 7 | | a life-long supporter of the Boys Scouts of America; he served | 8 | | in the United States Navy during World War II as a weatherman | 9 | | on the USS Intrepid; he married Jean Schroeder in Rantoul in | 10 | | June of 1947; after his service, he graduated from the | 11 | | University of Illinois with a Master's of Education and from | 12 | | Northwestern University with a Master's of Business | 13 | | Administration; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Henry Tonigan worked as a plant manager for US | 15 | | Steel and Ozite Manufacturing; he was a proud owner of Profile | 16 | | Publications and Red Line Litho in Crystal Lake, for which he | 17 | | received numerous Chamber of Commerce awards; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Henry Tonigan was an avid nature enthusiast, | 19 | | golfer, and a 32nd degree Mason with the Rising Son Lodge; he | 20 | | was past-President of 2 Lutheran Congressional Churches in | 21 | | Waukegan and Barrington; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Henry Tonigan was preceded in death by his | 2 | | parents; wife, Jean; daughter, Connie; granddaughter, Brandy; | 3 | | brothers, Bud and Dick Tonigan; and sisters, Joy Weeks, Louise | 4 | | Simshauser, and Marilyn "Ducky" Lea; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Henry Tonigan is survived by his son, Henry "Skip" | 6 | | (Rebecca) Tonigan, III; his grandchildren, Henry "Hawk" | 7 | | Tonigan, IV and Alexandria C. Tonigan; many nieces and nephews; | 8 | | and great-nieces and great-nephews; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 11 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Henry Tonigan, II; and | 12 | | be it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Henry Tonigan, II as an expression | 15 | | of our sympathy.
