| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Dorothy Marguerite Arvidson of Ringwood, | 4 | | who passed away on November 19, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Arvidson was born in Chicago to John J. | 6 | | and Dorothy R. (Jack) Haley on June 12, 1935; she graduated | 7 | | from St. Scholastica High School and received her Bachelor of | 8 | | Arts in Education from Mundelein College and a Master of | 9 | | Education from Northern Illinois University; she married | 10 | | Donald Arvidson on February 15, 1958; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Arvidson enjoyed a teaching career that | 12 | | spanned over 28 years, beginning in Chicago and followed by | 13 | | Landmark School for McHenry School District 15; the remainder | 14 | | of her career was with Johnsburg School District 12; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Arvidson was a member of Christ the King | 16 | | Catholic Church in Wonder Lake, the McHenry County Retired | 17 | | Teachers Association, the Illinois Education Association, and | 18 | | a member and past-president of the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority; | 19 | | and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Arvidson was preceded in death by her | 21 | | parents and her brothers, Joseph (Joan) Haley and John (Vicky) |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Arvidson is survived by her husband of 59 | 3 | | years, Don; her sons, Mark (Lena) Arvidson and Dan (Deborah) | 4 | | Arvidson; her grandsons, Leif, Erik, and Ben Arvidson; and her | 5 | | brother, Michael (Cindy) Haley; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Dorothy Marguerite Arvidson, and extend our sincere | 9 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 10 | | her; and be it further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Dorothy Arvidson as an expression of | 13 | | our deepest sympathy.
