| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Doris Emalyn Karnes of Bunker Hill, who | 4 | | passed away on March 26, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Doris Karnes was born to Henry and Cordelia | 6 | | Suhling of Dorchester on September 4, 1930; she graduated from | 7 | | Dorchester Elementary School and Shipman High School; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Doris Karnes worked at Famous Barr from 1979 until | 9 | | her retirement in 1999; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Doris Karnes was a member of Zion Lutheran Church | 11 | | in Bunker Hill, where she enjoyed serving on the altar guild | 12 | | and working at the sausage suppers; her love of gardening led | 13 | | her to be a member of the Beautification Committee in Bunker | 14 | | Hill and the Hemerocallis Society in Macoupin County; she | 15 | | volunteered at Staunton Hospital for many years; she enjoyed | 16 | | spending time with her family, tending to her bluebird houses, | 17 | | and raising her Dachshunds; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Doris Karnes was preceded in death by her parents | 19 | | and her sisters, Patricia Viehweg and Elinor Tschauder; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Doris Karnes is survived by her children, Virgil |
