| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Geneva M. Nailing of Peoria, who passed | 4 | | away on November 1, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Geneva Nailing was born in Cairo on March 17, 1941 | 6 | | to Milo and Sadie (nee Hansbro) Nailing; she graduated from | 7 | | Woodruff High School; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Geneva Nailing retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in | 9 | | 2003 after over 35 years of service; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Geneva Nailing served with many organizations in | 11 | | many capacities, such as Democratic Precinct Committee Person; | 12 | | Second Vice-President to the Democratic Women; Chairperson for | 13 | | Ecumenical Development for Church Women United; the National | 14 | | Organization for Women; the Veterans Committee; Chairperson | 15 | | for the Central Illinois Women Committee; the Citizen Action | 16 | | Policy Council; the Illinois Alliance of Retired Americans; | 17 | | (CHICA) Clean Air; Planned Parenthood's Board of Directors; | 18 | | Vice-President of the Red Hot Flutterbyes; and the United Auto | 19 | | Workers and Red Cross Phone Banking Drives, where she unloaded | 20 | | trucks for their food drives; and | 21 | | WHEREAS, Geneva Nailing was pleased to work with Night Out |

| 1 | | Against Crime and enjoyed delivering the monthly Community Word | 2 | | Newspaper; she was well known for being a champion for the | 3 | | laborers of Peoria and her great love and fight for veterans' | 4 | | rights; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Geneva Nailing was preceded in death by her | 6 | | parents and one brother, Michael Simmons; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Geneva Nailing leaves to cherish her most precious | 8 | | memories her sister with whom she lived, Evangelist Twinkle | 9 | | Stuckey, and her nephews, whom she affectionately called and | 10 | | considered her grandsons, Chad and Chaz Stuckey; therefore, be | 11 | | it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Geneva M. Nailing, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 15 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 16 | | further
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the family of Geneva Nailing as an expression of | 19 | | our deepest sympathy.
