| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Thomas Joseph "Tom" | 4 | | Maloney on the occasion of his 90th birthday on September 11, | 5 | | 2018; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Tom Maloney was born in Chicago on September 11, | 7 | | 1928; one of eight children, he grew up on the South Side in | 8 | | the Beverly neighborhood; he graduated from St. Barnabas | 9 | | Grammar School and St. Ignatius High School; he completed his | 10 | | education at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, | 11 | | where he proudly served in the Navy ROTC; he served in the | 12 | | United States Army during the Korean Conflict; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Tom Maloney accepted a position in the Aircraft | 14 | | Engineer Division for the Ford Motor Company in Chicago; later, | 15 | | he worked for Braniff Airlines in Dallas, Texas; while there, | 16 | | he met his wife, Margaret, an Illinois native who has since | 17 | | passed away; they were blessed with a son, Michael, and a | 18 | | daughter, Maureen; they raised their family in Long Beach, | 19 | | Indiana, while Tom commuted to Chicago to work as a medical | 20 | | group administrator; his family has grown to include a | 21 | | son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren; and
| 22 | | WHEREAS, During his retirement, Tom Maloney became well |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Tom Maloney has returned home to his Beverly | 3 | | neighborhood in the City of Chicago; therefore, be it
| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 5 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 6 | | congratulate Thomas Joseph "Tom" Maloney on the occasion of his | 7 | | 90th birthday; and be it further
| 8 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 9 | | presented to Tom Maloney as an expression of our esteem and | 10 | | respect.
