| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Marvin W. | 4 | | Teel; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Teel was born on July 23, 1923 in rural | 6 | | Mulkeytown and lived in Franklin County for most of his life; | 7 | | and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Teel graduated from Southern Illinois | 9 | | University with a degree in physics, chemistry, and math and | 10 | | had an early career with Sangamo Corporation as a chemist; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Teel served his country as a member of the | 12 | | United States Navy as a radio operator during World War II; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Teel served as a rural mail carrier in | 14 | | Mulkeytown for 44 years; and | 15 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Teel was an excellent mechanic and a race | 16 | | car fan; he operated an antenna and tower installation business | 17 | | and still rode his bicycle and delivered newspapers for Benton | 18 | | Evening News until the age of 90; he also took great pleasure | 19 | | in frequently writing letters to the editor of many newspapers, | 20 | | including the Southern Illinoisian, and framing the |

| 1 | | conservative world views on various issues of the day; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Teel was a faithful member of Greenwood | 3 | | United Methodist Church of rural Mulkeytown; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Teel was preceded in death by his parents, | 5 | | Leslie and Elnora (nee Ward) Teel, and a brother, Harley L. | 6 | | Teel; and | 7 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Teel is survived by his wife of 70 years, | 8 | | Marilyn (nee Flowers) Teel; 4 children, Sherry (Larry) Bullock, | 9 | | Forrest (Ann) Teel, Winona Teel, and Taylor (Kim) Teel; 7 | 10 | | grandchildren, Linaya Germann, Trevor Bullock, Courtney | 11 | | Overturf, Harrison Teel, Mackenzie Teel, Shawn Teel, and | 12 | | Brianna Teel; 8 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edna Neal; | 13 | | therefore, be it
| 14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 15 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 16 | | we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of | 17 | | Marvin W. Teel; and be it further
