| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Richard B. Powell of Moline, who | 4 | | passed away on October 7, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Powell was born to Cloyse B. and Berdella | 6 | | A. Doyle Powell in Highland Park, Michigan on September 22, | 7 | | 1930; he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean | 8 | | Conflict; he married Darleen R. Beckstrom in Denver, Colorado | 9 | | on May 1, 1953, and she preceded him in death on April 5, 2009; | 10 | | and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Richard Powell worked as an accountant with | 12 | | Caterpillar Inc. from 1964 until his retirement in 1985; he | 13 | | also started the Powell Income Tax Service in 1966; he later | 14 | | became a realtor with both Century 21 and South Towne; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Richard Powell was a member of Bethany Church in | 16 | | Moline; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Richard Powell was preceded in death by his wife; | 18 | | his parents; his daughter, Debbie Loftin; and his brother, | 19 | | Joe; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Richard Powell is survived by his children, |

| 1 | | Donald Powell, Dori (John) McCartney, and Dawn (Tim) Robinson; | 2 | | his son-in-law, Mark Loftin; his 16 grandchildren; his 18 | 3 | | great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Mary Lea Powell; | 4 | | therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Richard B. Powell and extend our sincere condolences to his | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Richard Powell as an expression of | 12 | | our deepest sympathy.
