| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Dixie Jane Blazier of Harvard, who passed | 4 | | away on December 1, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dixie Blazier was born in Davenport, Iowa to | 6 | | Gerald and Darlene (Crum) Berryhill on March 25, 1951; she | 7 | | married James (Jim) Blazier in Harvard on November 7, 1970; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Dixie Blazier enjoyed a successful career working | 9 | | in the business office at Centegra Health System and Harvard | 10 | | Hospital; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Dixie Blazier was active in her church, serving on | 12 | | several different committees throughout the years, most | 13 | | recently as a Deacon; she was also active in her community and | 14 | | participated in breast cancer research fundraising; she | 15 | | enjoyed crocheting baby blankets, baby outfits, and afghans; | 16 | | she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; | 17 | | she participated in all of her children's activities, including | 18 | | as Girl Scout leader, Sunday School teacher, and attending | 19 | | sporting events; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Dixie Blazier was preceded in death by her parents | 21 | | and her stepmother, Elaine Berryhill; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Dixie Blazier is survived by her children, Carla | 2 | | Sipe, Jessica (Eric) Sugalski, and Hannah (Mike) Jesski; her | 3 | | brother, John (Kathy) Berryhill; her sisters, Leila (Jim) | 4 | | Novak, Heidi (Jay) Tillotson, and Glenda (Bob) Mundis; her | 5 | | grandchildren, Rachael and Jacob Hayes, James, Jonathon, and | 6 | | Kaitlynn Jesski, and Annica, Julia, and Nathan Sugalski; her | 7 | | great-granddaughter, Amelia Hayes; and many nieces, nephews, | 8 | | and great-nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Dixie Jane Blazier, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 13 | | further
