| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Susan Kay Browning of Perry, who passed | 4 | | away on January 30, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Susan Browning was born in Quincy on November 7,
| 6 | | 1956 to Marvin and
Leah (nee Potter) Hull; she graduated from | 7 | | Liberty High School in 1974 and
attended what is now Truman | 8 | | State University in Kirksville,
Missouri; she married Robert L.
| 9 | | Browning on October 31, 1976 in Chambersburg; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Susan Browning and her husband owned and operated | 11 | | Kaylynn's Kafe
in Perry during the early 2000s; she recently | 12 | | retired as
Secretary for the Regional Office of Education in | 13 | | Pittsfield; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Susan Browning was an active member of the Fish | 15 | | Hook United Brethren Church, where she served as
worship leader | 16 | | and as a Sunday school teacher; she also served as Treasurer of | 17 | | the Fairmount
Township Sunday School Convention; she was a | 18 | | 20-year member of the Pike County 4-H
Foundation Board, which | 19 | | raised money for local 4-H programs, and she was a leader of | 20 | | the Perry
4-H Stitchers Club for 6 years; she liked to travel, | 21 | | sew, craft, and bake and was especially known for her delicious | 22 | | pies; she was also active in State and local politics for the |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Susan Browning was preceded in death
by her | 3 | | daughter, Kaylynn; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Susan Browning is survived by her husband, Robert; | 5 | | her 3 children: Jason, Jeff and his wife, Nicole, and Ali | 6 | | Nicole; her 2 grandsons, Jakob Browning and Kalob Browning; her | 7 | | sister, Peggy Ulm; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Howell | 8 | | and Jean Browning; her 5 sisters-in-law; and many nieces, | 9 | | nephews; and cousins; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Susan Kay Browning, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 14 | | further
