| 2 | | WHEREAS, The first Red Apple Restaurant opened at 3121 | 3 | | North Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago's Polish Village in Avondale | 4 | | on Polish Constitution Day, May 3, 1989; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, One year later, the Red Apple Restaurant opened a | 6 | | second location in Norwood Park at 6474 North Milwaukee Avenue; | 7 | | and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Having become a noted local culinary landmark of | 9 | | Chicago that has excelled in the tradition of crafting | 10 | | traditional Polish foods, the Red Apple Restaurant has lured | 11 | | guests from all over the United States and beyond to taste | 12 | | their wholesome fare; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, The Red Apple Restaurant has helped nourish the | 14 | | cultural renaissance in Avondale, Chicago's Polish Village, | 15 | | Kosciuszko Park, Logan Square, Gladstone Park, and Norwood Park | 16 | | by sponsoring numerous community and artistic gatherings and | 17 | | events, such as the I Love Jackowo Festival, A Day in Avondale | 18 | | Art Walk, the Saint Hyacinth Carnival, and countless other | 19 | | projects; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Having offered their establishment as a venue for | 21 | | numerous community meetings and assemblies, the Red Apple |

| 1 | | Restaurant has continually highlighted their commitment to be a | 2 | | setting where neighbors can come and break bread together; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, The Red Apple Restaurant has established a long | 4 | | held tradition of providing diners with gourmet dishes in a | 5 | | wide variety of cuisines from around the world, with both | 6 | | contemporary and traditional authentic Polish dishes that | 7 | | characterize the many styles of Polish cuisine; therefore, be | 8 | | it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 10 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 11 | | we congratulate the owners of the Red Apple Restaurant on the | 12 | | occasion of the restaurant's 25th anniversary and honor them | 13 | | for their achievements in becoming a culinary landmark of the | 14 | | City of Chicago and for their commitment to working on behalf | 15 | | of improving the diverse communities in Avondale and Chicago's | 16 | | Polish Village; and be it further
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the Red Apple Restaurant as a symbol of our | 19 | | respect and esteem.
