| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Carl D. Hodson of Rock Island, who passed | 4 | | away on November 17, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Carl Hodson was born on January 13, 1931 in Milan; | 6 | | his parents were Benjamin L. and Irene O. Kimble Hodson; he | 7 | | married Mary Samuelson on January 25, 1964; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Carl Hodson played minor league baseball for the | 9 | | San Jose Red Sox before being drafted into the United States | 10 | | Army, where he served during the Korean War; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Carl Hodson owned Corner Tap in Rock Island for 20 | 12 | | years, selling the tavern in 1998; he also sold cars for 27 | 13 | | years for Eriksen Chevrolet in Milan and spent several years as | 14 | | a volunteer fireman for the Blackhawk Fire Department in Milan; | 15 | | and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Carl Hodson was a past member of Davenport Elks | 17 | | Lodge No. 298 and the Milan Lions Club; and | 18 | | WHEREAS, Carl Hodson enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, | 19 | | and golfing; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Carl Hodson was preceded in death by his parents; | 2 | | a step-granddaughter; his brother, Benjamin F. Hodson; and his | 3 | | sister, Eileen Booton; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Carl Hodson is survived by his wife, Mary Hodson; | 5 | | his daughters, Marla (Chris) Frost, Robyn (Trace) Bentley, and | 6 | | Carla (Michael) Schmidt; his 2 step-children; his grandsons, | 7 | | Logan and Jake Frost and Ross Bentley; his granddaughter, | 8 | | Jordan Bentley, and his 8 other grandchildren; his 10 | 9 | | great-grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Roy Booton; and his | 10 | | many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 13 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Carl D. Hodson; and be | 14 | | it further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Carl Hodson as an expression of our | 17 | | sympathy.
