| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Morris A. "Morrie" De Geeter of East | 4 | | Moline, who passed away on July 10, 2020 at the age of 101; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Morris De Geeter was born in Hartwick, Iowa to | 6 | | Edward and Emma (Van Waes) De Geeter on August 6, 1918; he | 7 | | served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and married | 8 | | Patricia "Annie" (Gardiner) Campbell in Moline on August 18, | 9 | | 1987; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Morris De Geeter retired from the International | 11 | | Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1304 in 1982, after 25 | 12 | | years of service; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Morris De Geeter loved his house and the outdoors; | 14 | | he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Morris De Geeter was preceded in death by his | 16 | | parents; his children, Brad Martin De Geeter and Karna O'Neil; | 17 | | his stepdaughter, Barb Campbell; and his siblings, Fred, | 18 | | Victor, and August De Geeter and Ida Vermiere; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Morris De Geeter is survived by his wife, Annie; | 20 | | his stepson, Weldon Campbell Jr.; numerous grandchildren, |

| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 6 | | Morris A. "Morrie" De Geeter and extend our sincere condolences | 7 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 8 | | it further
