| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Billy | 4 | | Oscar Stewart, who passed away on September 20, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Oscar Stewart was born in Meridian, Mississippi to | 6 | | James and Walterine Stewart on September 24, 1942; he attended | 7 | | Chicago elementary schools and
graduated from Tilden Tech High
| 8 | | School in Chicago; he served in the U.S. Air Force for four | 9 | | years and was
stationed in Italy and Alaska; he worked for two | 10 | | years in Alaska as a fireman and returned to Chicago in 1965; | 11 | | and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Oscar Stewart married Essie Mae, his next door | 13 | | neighbor, on January 24, 1967, and two days later, the biggest | 14 | | snow storm ever hit Chicago; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Oscar Stewart enjoyed reading and took a book | 16 | | everywhere; he also enjoyed debating, loved a challenge, and | 17 | | was always ready for a discussion anywhere and with anyone; his | 18 | | biggest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially | 19 | | at the movies; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Oscar Stewart was preceded in death by his parents | 21 | | and his brother, James Ray Stewart; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Oscar Stewart is survived his wife, Essie; his
| 2 | | daughters, Ersa Veloria and Billie Oretha Stewart-Tigue | 3 | | (Antawn); his son, Major James (Denise); his grandsons, Matthew | 4 | | Oscar, Marcus Antawn, and Major James II; his sister, Matterine | 5 | | Ruffin; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ersa and Elbert | 6 | | Mack; his brother-in law, Dan Williams; his sister-in law, | 7 | | Deseree Williams; and numerous relatives, cousins, nephews, | 8 | | nieces, and friends; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 10 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 11 | | mourn the passing of Billy Oscar Stewart and extend our sincere | 12 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 13 | | him; and be it further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Oscar Stewart as an expression of | 16 | | our deepest sympathy.
