| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Richard Duane "Dick" Schroeder who passed | 4 | | away on January 2, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dick Schroeder was born in Harvard to LaVerne and | 6 | | Marjorie Spencer Schroeder on August 8, 1938; he served in the | 7 | | United States Army from 1959 until 1961; he was blessed to have | 8 | | two wonderful women in his life; his first wife, Sandra, | 9 | | preceded him in death; he then married Cathy; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Dick Schroeder was a barber for 58 years, and he | 11 | | worked in Woodstock for 55 of those years; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Dick Schroeder was a member of the Woodstock | 13 | | American Legion Post #412 and served as Commander and | 14 | | Treasurer; he was a staple in the community and could always be | 15 | | counted on for a smile and a good laugh; he was a wonderful | 16 | | husband, father, and grandfather; he was respected by many; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Dick Schroeder was preceded in death by his first | 18 | | wife, Sandra; his parents; his niece, Vicky Schroeder; his | 19 | | sister-in-law, Jackie Ihrke; and his brother-in-law, Bill | 20 | | Blaksley; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Dick Schroeder is survived by his second wife, | 2 | | Cathy; his children, Deanna (Tim) Petersen and Tom (Michele) | 3 | | Schroeder; his grandchildren, Emily Petersen, Michael | 4 | | Petersen, Alexandra Schroeder, Chloe Schroeder, Hannah | 5 | | Blaksley, and Cade Blaksley; his brother, Ramon Schroeder; his | 6 | | brothers-in-law, George "Skip" (Julee) Blaksley and DeVere | 7 | | "Bud" Ihrke; his nieces and nephews, Donna Schroeder, Carol | 8 | | O'Dell, Paula Camann, Scott Ihrke, Greg Ihrke, Jeff (Jennifer) | 9 | | Blaksley, Chris Blaksley, Tausha Blaksley and Mike Blaksley; | 10 | | therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Richard Duane "Dick" Schroeder and extend our sincere | 14 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 15 | | him; and be it further
