| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Richard Alfred "Dick" Andersen of Lake | 4 | | Forest, who passed away on November 11, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dick Andersen graduated from Lake Forest High | 6 | | School in 1946, where he was affectionately known as "Andy"; he | 7 | | served 2 years in the United States Marines before enrolling at | 8 | | the University of Michigan, where he was a member of the Delta | 9 | | Kappa Epsilon fraternity; he graduated in 1952 with a Bachelor | 10 | | of Arts in Economics; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Dick Andersen worked for the First National Bank | 12 | | of Chicago for 33 years, finally as a Vice-President in the | 13 | | Trust Department-Real Estate Division, where he travelled | 14 | | extensively to Europe and the Middle East; upon retirement, he | 15 | | took further interest in his building materials companies, G.L. | 16 | | Blanchard and Dealers Ready Mix; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Dick Andersen was active in his community; he | 18 | | served as a Lake Bluff volunteer firefighter, a Little League | 19 | | coach, a girls' softball coach, and a Trustee of Union Church | 20 | | of Lake Bluff, and he created the Lake Bluff Police Pension | 21 | | Fund; he served for many years on the Board of Trustees of | 22 | | Northland College and was instrumental in establishing the |

| 1 | | Green Lake Conservancy in Wisconsin, where he and his wife | 2 | | spent much fun time with family and friends; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Dick Andersen enjoyed golfing, hunting, | 4 | | trap-shooting, and boating, even once "shooting his age" of 79 | 5 | | in golf; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Dick Andersen is survived by his wife of 62 years, | 7 | | Anne (nee Lackie); he was the father of Linn (William) Carey, | 8 | | Brad (Nancy) Andersen, Sally (Robert) Bickel, and Jean | 9 | | (Jeffery) Ott; grandfather of William Carey, Ryan (Emily), | 10 | | Sean, and Brady Andersen, Katherine and Christopher Bickel, and | 11 | | Andrew and Thomas Ott; great-grandfather of Warren and Lila | 12 | | Andersen; and brother of John (Virginia) Andersen; therefore, | 13 | | be it
| 14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 16 | | Richard Alfred "Dick" Andersen, and extend our sincere | 17 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 18 | | him; and be it further
