| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of James E. | 4 | | Mayer of Geneva, who passed away on October 26, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, James Mayer was born in Chicago to Harry and Nora | 6 | | (Rosenbarger) Mayer on December 27, 1929; he served in the U.S. | 7 | | Army during the Korean War and received both his bachelor's and | 8 | | master's degrees from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb; | 9 | | he received a Master of Business Administration from the | 10 | | University of Illinois at Chicago; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, James Mayer taught for many years at Coultrap | 12 | | Middle School in Geneva; he also served as a Third Ward | 13 | | alderman on the Geneva City Council; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, James Mayer was an avid sports fan, especially of | 15 | | the Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks; he always enjoyed a good meal | 16 | | and spending time with family and friends; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, James Mayer was preceded in death by his parents; | 18 | | his sister, Faye Mallory; and his son, Tom; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, James Mayer is survived by his wife of 62 years, | 20 | | Mary (Slaymaker); his children, Linda (Scott) Abernethy, |

| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 7 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 8 | | mourn the passing of James E. Mayer and extend our sincere | 9 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 10 | | him; and be it further
