| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Andrew M. "Andy" Batchelor of Alton, who | 4 | | passed away on November 29, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Andrew Batchelor was born in Alton on October 20, | 6 | | 1949 to Clarence D. and Dorothy (nee Mitchell) Batchelor; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Andrew Batchelor was the owner and operator of | 8 | | Andy's Auto Body for over 40 years, retiring in 2007; in | 9 | | retirement, he began raising chickens and gardening produce, | 10 | | popcorn, and Christmas trees; he donated much of what he | 11 | | produced to the local crisis center to benefit those in need; | 12 | | and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Andrew Batchelor was a former member of Cherry | 14 | | Street Baptist Church in Alton, a board member of the Boy | 15 | | Scouts of America, a trustee for Foster Township, and a regular | 16 | | volunteer in his community; he was a lifelong St. Louis | 17 | | Cardinals fan and was proud of his rural farm roots; he enjoyed | 18 | | writing and was a regular contributor to the Alton Telegraph; | 19 | | he also enjoyed spending time with his children and | 20 | | grandchildren; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Andrew Batchelor was preceded in death by his |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Andrew Batchelor is survived by his wife of 44 | 3 | | years, Nancy (Miller); his 2 children, Jennifer (Troy) DeFranco | 4 | | and Mark (Tara) Batchelor; his 4 grandchildren, Madisyn and | 5 | | Devin DeFranco and Paige and Maggie Batchelor; his sister, | 6 | | Bonita (Marvin) Mosby; his 2 brothers, Stephen (Barbara) | 7 | | Batchelor and David (Dianna) Batchelor; his sister-in-law, | 8 | | Carol (Victor) Palomino; his brother-in-law, Gary Miller; his | 9 | | nieces and nephews, Christy (Robertson) and Michal Mosby, | 10 | | Stacey (Ripp), Dana (Redman) and Matt Batchelor, Tara and Aaron | 11 | | Batchelor, and Catye and Jeff Palomino; and many great nieces | 12 | | and nephews and extended family members; therefore, be it
| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 15 | | Andrew M. "Andy" Batchelor, and extend our sincere condolences | 16 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 17 | | it further
