| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of A. Wayne Downen of Bloomington, who | 4 | | passed away on January 17, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Downen was born on July 28, 1929, in Wayne | 6 | | County to Ralph and Cora Weber Downen; he married Mary Ann | 7 | | Boggs on August 13, 1950, in Bloomington; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Downen worked as a farmer and was named | 9 | | Outstanding Young Farmer for McLean County in 1962; he was a | 10 | | charter member of the Hudson Lions Club and was a member of the | 11 | | Elks Lodge and the McLean County Farm Bureau; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Downen served as a board member for the | 13 | | Hudson Valley Fire Department; he was an active member of | 14 | | Hudson United Methodist Church for more than 50 years; he was a | 15 | | trustee of the church and served on various church committees; | 16 | | and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Downen was preceded in death by his parents; | 18 | | his 4 brothers; his sister; and his grandson, Benjamin Downen; | 19 | | and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Downen is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; |

| 1 | | his sons, Stephen (Anna) Downen and Kenneth (Karen) Downen; his | 2 | | grandchildren, Stephanie Downen, Katy (Chris) Grady, and | 3 | | William Northcutt; his great-grandchildren, Kaleb Downen, | 4 | | Molly, Brooke and Korrie Grady, and Delaney Northcutt; and his | 5 | | many nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Wayne Downen, and we extend our sincere condolences to his | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Wayne Downen as an expression of our | 13 | | deepest sympathy.
