| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Oma Maxine Heepke of Bethalto, who passed | 4 | | away on January 14, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Oma Heepke was born in Bethalto to Walter and | 6 | | Violet (Wiley) Neumann on January 2, 1928; she married | 7 | | Frederick "Beef" Heepke at the Eden United Church of Christ on | 8 | | October 1, 1949 and they resided on the family farm in | 9 | | Edwardsville; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Oma Heepke was a member of the Eden Church in | 11 | | Edwardsville, the Eden Women's Guild, the Madison County Farm | 12 | | Bureau Women's Committee, and the Republican Women's | 13 | | Committee; she was a member of several card clubs, one of which | 14 | | met for over 65 years; she also enjoyed sewing and traveling; | 15 | | and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Oma Heepke was preceded in death by her parents; | 17 | | her husband, Frederick; her brother, Thomas Neumann; and her | 18 | | in-laws, Charles Piro, Harriet Neumann, and Paul and Carl | 19 | | Heepke; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Oma Heepke is survived by her sons, Charles F. | 21 | | (Marilyn) and Fred W. (Pamela) Heepke; her siblings, Walter |
