| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Donald L. Hook of Vernon Hills, who | 4 | | passed away on July 3, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Donald Hook graduated from Northwestern | 6 | | University in Evanston in 1974; he was an avid Northwestern | 7 | | football fan, having gone 41 years without missing a home game, | 8 | | and an active member of the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity, "The | 9 | | Wranglers"; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Donald Hook served 30 years with the Vernon Hills | 11 | | Lions Club, as Director of the Lions of Illinois Foundation and | 12 | | past-District Governor of Lions District 1F; he was a former | 13 | | Trustee for the Village of Vernon Hills from 1989 to 1997, and | 14 | | a former member of the Cook Memorial Library Board; he was also | 15 | | a member of the Police Pension Board starting in 2002; he was a | 16 | | founding member of St. Mary of Vernon Catholic Church, and a | 17 | | pitcher for SMV Blue Baseball for over 25 years; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Donald Hook was preceded in death by his parents, | 19 | | Donald and Dolores; his step-father, Arlen Wilkerson; and his | 20 | | son, Cory Hook; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Donald Hook is survived by his wife of nearly 40 |

| 1 | | years, Kathleen (nee Scibor); his daughters, Morgan Diaz, Erin | 2 | | (Nathan) Tidd, and Michelle (Justin) Dewey; his grandchildren, | 3 | | Ayden and Caitlin Diaz and Etta Tidd; his sister-in-law, | 4 | | Michelle (Frank, Jr.) Rybinski; his siblings in faith and | 5 | | friendship, Don and Kathy Steward and Laura Jurey; his niece, | 6 | | Renee Mack; and his nephews, Matt Jurey and Frank Rybinski, | 7 | | III; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Donald L. Hook, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 11 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further
