| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Robert J. Hoste of Colona, who passed | 4 | | away on January 20, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Hoste was born to Joseph and Alina David | 6 | | Hoste in East Moline on January 9, 1925; he served in the | 7 | | United States Navy during World War II and married Alice M. | 8 | | Smelkowski in Colona on November 27, 1948; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Robert Hoste worked as a welder for International | 10 | | Harvester Works in East Moline for 34 years, retiring in 1981; | 11 | | he also farmed part time; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Robert Hoste was a member of St. Patrick Catholic | 13 | | Church, where he was involved in the Holy Name Society; he was | 14 | | also a member of the United Auto Workers Local 1304; he loved | 15 | | working in his garage; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Robert Hoste was preceded in death by his wife, | 17 | | Alice; his parents; his son, Victor Hoste; his | 18 | | great-great-granddaughter, Bella; his brothers, Allbert, | 19 | | Morris, and Maurice Hoste; and his sister, Irene Schneider; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Robert Hoste is survived by his daughter, Roberta |
