1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of
3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Lori Michelle
4 Rosenblum of Arlington Heights; and
5 WHEREAS, Ms. Rosenblum was born in Skokie and grew up in
6 Arlington Heights; as a Buffalo Grove High School student,
7 she spent her spare time helping coordinate an annual
8 fundraiser for Omni Youth Services, an organization that
9 provides youth and family counseling along with other
10 services in Buffalo Grove; and
11 WHEREAS, Ms. Rosenblum graduated from high school in 1997
12 and went to Marquette University in Milwaukee, where she
13 combined an interest in helping women with a fascination with
14 criminal behavior, majoring in both women's studies and
15 criminology; and
16 WHEREAS, Ms. Rosenblum volunteered in the Milwaukee court
17 system, helping women file for orders of protection and
18 assisting crime victims; she also worked part time at the
19 security desk in the university's dormitories, checking
20 identification of visitors and helped serve food as a soup
21 kitchen volunteer; and
22 WHEREAS, After receiving her bachelor's degree in 2001,
23 she returned to Arlington Heights and went to work at
24 Maryville Academy in Des Plaines, traveling to inspect
25 facilities throughout the Chicago area to ensure that the
26 agency's group homes for abused and neglected children were
27 comfortable and met State standards; and
28 WHEREAS, Ms. Rosenblum was a huge sports fan, she drove
29 up to Milwaukee to see as many Marquette basketball games as
30 possible and played fantasy football every year; and
31 WHEREAS, Ms. Rosenblum's passing will be deeply felt

1 many, especially her parents, Jay and Toby Rosenblum; her
2 sisters, Rachel Rogers (LTjg Kenneth) and Susan Crull; and
3 her grandmother, Fay Chesin; therefore, be it
4 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
6 Lori Michelle Rosenblum along with all who knew and loved her
7 and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends,
8 and community; and be it further
9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to the family of Lori Michelle Rosenblum with our
11 deepest sympathy.
