| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Marian Constance Tetzlaff, who passed | 4 | | away on July 29, 2019 at the age of 90; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Marian Tetzlaff was born Marian Constance | 6 | | DiGregorio in Chicago on March 7, 1929; she lived in the Oak | 7 | | Park-River Forest area for the majority of her life and spent | 8 | | her last years of her life in Solana Beach, California; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Marian Tetzlaff was a member of Calvary Memorial | 10 | | Church in Oak Park for many years and also attended First | 11 | | Presbyterian Church in River Forest; she lived her faith fully | 12 | | by imparting her values of kindness, generosity, and | 13 | | thoughtfulness to her family; she always started and ended her | 14 | | day with devotion and prayer; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Marian Tetzlaff raised five children while | 16 | | working full time; she worked in the City of Chicago for a | 17 | | large law firm as a lead legal assistant, while remaining | 18 | | extremely organized and efficient in running the family | 19 | | household smoothly; she kept an impeccable home and | 20 | | entertained with grace; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Marian Tetzlaff was a woman of many talents, |

| 1 | | including a passion for sewing, needlework, and knitting; her | 2 | | hand was fine, and she knitted with a group of skilled knitters | 3 | | until the end; she spent many years as a member of the 19th | 4 | | Century Club in Oak Park, knitting for babies; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Marian Tetzlaff had a beautiful voice and sang in | 6 | | choirs large and small; one felt blessed to sit next to her in | 7 | | church to hear her sing one of her favorite hymns "Holy, Holy, | 8 | | Holy"; she loved opera and classical music and volunteered for | 9 | | the Chicago Symphony Orchestra; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Marian Tetzlaff traveled throughout the world and | 11 | | especially loved the Smoky Mountains, where she enjoyed hiking | 12 | | to view the wildflowers; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Marian Tetzlaff remained an active learner | 14 | | throughout her life; she embraced technology, had a weekly | 15 | | video conference with her children, and kept an active email | 16 | | correspondence with many; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Marian Tetzlaff gathered a wide circle of friends | 18 | | and had an insightful sense of humor; she was very beautiful | 19 | | and had a countenance of optimism and grace that she | 20 | | maintained throughout her life; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Marian Tetzlaff was preceded in death by her |

| 1 | | husband, George A. Tetzlaff, Jr.; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Marian Tetzlaff is survived by her children, | 3 | | Gregory (Donna) W. Tetzlaff, Dr. Linda (Warren) T. Brubaker, | 4 | | Laura (Robert) J. Godfrey, Lisa (Timothy) J. Pfiffner, and | 5 | | Thomas G. Tetzlaff; her grandchildren, Dr. Aleah L. Brubaker, | 6 | | Bradley K. Pfiffner, Rebecca E. Tetzlaff, Corey P. Pfiffner, | 7 | | Gregory W. Tetzlaff II, Anita Morea, Keene N. Brubaker, and | 8 | | Andrew T. Pfiffner; her great-grandchild, Matthew Warren | 9 | | Morea; and her brother, Frank DiGregorio; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Marian Constance Tetzlaff and extend our sincere condolences | 13 | | to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be | 14 | | it further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Marian Tetzlaff as an expression of | 17 | | our deepest sympathy.
