| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of John Michael Daggett of Colona, who | 4 | | passed away on August 13, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Daggett was born to John Morton and Millie | 6 | | Lou (Whitlow) Daggett in Moline on August 11, 1959; he served | 7 | | in the U.S. Navy for over nine years, serving with the | 8 | | International Peacekeeping force in Lebanon and as a Chief | 9 | | Master of Arms; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, John Daggett worked for the U.S. Postal Service in | 11 | | Milan; he retired in March of 2020; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, John Daggett was a member of the Waterkeeper | 13 | | Alliance and of the Colona American Legion; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, John Daggett enjoyed boating, fishing, | 15 | | photography, and collecting artifacts; above all else, his | 16 | | family was the most important thing to him, especially his | 17 | | children; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, John Daggett was preceded in death by his father | 19 | | and his brother-in-law, Bart Chilton; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, John Daggett is survived by his two children, | 2 | | Elissa (fiancé Christopher Rostenbach) and Theo Daggett; his | 3 | | mother, Millie Daggett; and his two sisters, Sherry Chilton and | 4 | | Cathy (Dean) Daconto; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| 7 | | John Michael Daggett and extend our sincere
condolences to his | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| 11 | | presented to the family of John Daggett as an expression of
our | 12 | | deepest sympathy.
