| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of John E. "Jack" Smith of Beach Park, who | 4 | | passed away on May 24, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jack Smith was born on December 20, 1936 in | 6 | | Sedalia, Missouri, and was a Waukegan resident most of his | 7 | | life, living in Beach Park for the past 22 years; he graduated | 8 | | from the University of Kansas with an accounting degree, and | 9 | | was a veteran of the United States Air Force; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Jack Smith retired from Abbott Laboratories; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Jack Smith enjoyed sailing, racing sailboats, and | 12 | | was commodore of the Waukegan Yacht Club in 1988; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Jack Smith was preceded in death by his parents, | 14 | | Elgin and Dorothy Smith; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Jack Smith was survived by his wife, Debbie Smith; | 16 | | his daughter, Kelly (Richard) Luteijn; grandson, Finn; 2 | 17 | | sisters, Sue Bastin and Judy Schuck; sister-in-law, Kim (John) | 18 | | Guercio; and his special poodles, Tiffani and Tinkerbell; | 19 | | therefore, be it
