| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Charles Melville Walsh, who passed away | 4 | | on February 2, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Charles Walsh was born in Joliet to Fred and | 6 | | Catherine (Grey) Walsh on April 1, 1932; he graduated from | 7 | | Evanston Township High School and attended Lake Forest College, | 8 | | where he played football for four years and was inducted into | 9 | | the Lake Forest Football Hall of Fame; he served in the United | 10 | | States Marine Corps and married Susan Stanley; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Charles Walsh worked as a real estate mortgage | 12 | | banker for a number of respected Chicago area banking | 13 | | institutions; after 30 years, he established his own appraisal | 14 | | business, which he operated until his retirement; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Charles Walsh was an avid golfer; he enjoyed | 16 | | reading, history, and movies; he was a lifelong Chicago Bears | 17 | | fan; he and his wife enjoyed traveling and spending winters in | 18 | | Islamorada, Florida; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Charles Walsh is survived by his loving wife of 64 | 20 | | years, Susan; his children, Michael (Janie), Charley | 21 | | (Michele), Kevin (Katharine), Stephen (Maura), Joseph |
