| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Jean L. Lucio of Plainfield, who passed | 4 | | away on July 16, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jean Lucio was born in Newport News, Virginia to | 6 | | Carl and Alice (Langston) Parker on May 12, 1954; she resided | 7 | | in Joliet most of her life; she earned her degree in Chemical | 8 | | Engineering from Virginia Tech; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Jean Lucio worked as a chemical engineer at Stepan | 10 | | Chemical until her retirement; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Jean Lucio was known for always helping the less | 12 | | fortunate; she was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, | 13 | | through which she volunteered on various mission trips and also | 14 | | at the local food bank; she also helped those in her community, | 15 | | providing rides and checking in to see how people were doing; | 16 | | she enjoyed gardening, sewing, and quilting; she will be | 17 | | remembered as a wonder woman for balancing life as a single | 18 | | mother and raising four children while working a full-time job; | 19 | | and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Jean Lucio was preceded in death by her parents | 21 | | and her brothers, Glenn Parker, Neil Parker, and Ben Parker; |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Jean Lucio is survived by her children, Nicolas | 3 | | "Tony" (Kelie) Lucio, Robert (Erica) Lucio, Evelyn Lucio, and | 4 | | Samuel (Alyssa) Lucio; her seven grandchildren, Julian Lucio, | 5 | | Gabriella Lucio, Melina Lucio, Leonidas Lucio, Mariel Lucio, | 6 | | Calliope Lucio, and Mario Rios; her siblings, Dale (Pamela) | 7 | | Parker and Karen Parker; and several nieces and nephews; | 8 | | therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Jean L. Lucio and extend our sincere condolences to her family, | 12 | | friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
