| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened by the death of
Stephen T. "Tee" | 4 | | Hynes, who passed away on December 11, 1989; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Stephen Hynes joined the United States Navy on May | 6 | | 16, 1960, where he served until his honorable discharge in | 7 | | January of 1964; and | 8 | | WHEREAS, Stephen Hynes had a long and distinguished career | 9 | | with the State of Illinois; he began his career in 1972 at the | 10 | | Lincoln Developmental Institute; he subsequently worked as a | 11 | | prison guard at Stateville Correctional Center and the Illinois | 12 | | State Psychiatric Institute; he served as the chief operating | 13 | | engineer of the State of Illinois Center from October 1, 1983 | 14 | | to December 11, 1989; he is credited with contributing greatly | 15 | | to the correction of the Center's many initial heating and | 16 | | air-conditioning flaws and helping the Center run more | 17 | | smoothly; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, During his career, Stephen Hynes was employed as | 19 | | an operating engineer at the Chicago Police Department, the | 20 | | filtration plant, and the State of Illinois; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Stephen Hynes was an unsuccessful candidate for |

| 1 | | the Cook County Board in 1986, garnering more than 90,000 | 2 | | votes; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Stephen Hynes was survived by his wife, Kathleen; | 4 | | his sons, Stephen, Brian, and Jack; his daughter, Karen; his | 5 | | many grandchildren; his mother, Antoinette; and four brothers; | 6 | | therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 8 | | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 9 | | mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of | 10 | | Stephen T. "Tee" Hynes; and be it further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Stephen T. Hynes as an expression of | 13 | | our sympathy.
