| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Jeanette Mary Harris of Pekin, who passed | 4 | | away on January 12, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jeanette Harris was born in Clinton, Iowa to | 6 | | Phillip A. and Edna Massad Shadid on November 30, 1939; she | 7 | | married John Alex Harris on June 14, 1959 in Peoria; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Jeanette Harris was employed at Pekin Community | 9 | | High School and CENTEL; she also worked at Maurie's in downtown | 10 | | Pekin; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Jeanette Harris was a member of All Saints Greek | 12 | | Orthodox Church in Peoria, where she was a former Sunday school | 13 | | teacher and had served on the parish council; she was a member | 14 | | of the Holy Cross Philoptochos Society, where she served as | 15 | | President for multiple terms; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Jeanette Harris enjoyed cooking and baking; her | 17 | | greatest joy was her family, especially her children and | 18 | | grandchildren; she had served as a room mother and PTA member | 19 | | and President at C.B. Smith School in Pekin for her children; | 20 | | and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Jeanette Harris was preceded in death by her | 2 | | husband, John; her parents; her sister, Louise Shadid; and her | 3 | | 2 brothers, Mitchell Shadid and William Shadid; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Jeanette Harris is survived by her 2 sons, Alex | 5 | | John (Meredith) Harris and Philip John Harris; her daughter, | 6 | | Andrea (Corey) Enderle; her 6 grandchildren, Allie Lindsey, | 7 | | Grace Harris, Melissa Harris, Jonathan Enderle, Noah Enderle, | 8 | | and Evan Enderle; her 3 sisters, Gladys Abraham, Pauline Unes, | 9 | | and Joan (Richard) Pettit; her 2 brothers, George (Lorraine) | 10 | | Shadid and Fred (Jean) Shadid; and many nieces and nephews; | 11 | | therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Jeanette Mary Harris, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 15 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 16 | | further
